| A recent course in East London |
Be Safe are in the process of applying for charitable status under the name of Be Safe Project Limited, this follows the huge demand for their services from many organisations across the UK. The charity will hopefully have two elements to it one being the continuation of weapons awareness workshops and the other an advice line for young people, parents and others concerned about the carrying and use of weapons. This follows Be Safe having received over 200 calls after being featured on The Panorama programme on 17th October 2004.

Leeds
Be Safe are currently involved in an exciting initiative in The City of Leeds. Leeds City Council have asked Be Safe to train up to 120 trainers in the weapons awareness course, these trainers will then deliver the course to as many young people as possible across the City. Leeds do not have any more of a problem than any other city of its size, but feel that by educating their young people about the possible consequences of arming themselves they will help to make the young people of Leeds better informed and consequently make the city a safer place for everyone. All the main agencies in Leeds including the Police, Crime Reduction, Community Safety and representatives from Education and Youth Offending Services as well as many smaller organisations and individuals are involved in trying to make this forward thinking initiative work.
